The Golden
Warriors started out with Fingolfin and
Bonmast on our original game: Command
and Conquer Renegade. They decided to
create a clan and the name "Golden
Warriors" was the chosen title with the
prefix "109th" hence the original clan
tag [109thGW]. The first few months for
the clan bore little success but
steadily as Fingolfin and Bonmast became
skilled players they gained a large
roster and gained a reputation. When the
clan became established we started
playing clanwars and challenged the top
clans at the time which were AoA and BA,
although loosing most of our early
matches we gained respect and decided to
join the ESL 3on3 ladder. With immediate
success in the league the clan soon took
the top spot and defeated the top teams
in the league such as TMW and Fusion.
With a reputation as the top 3on3 team
on the game we turned out attention to
larger clanwars and sought wars with the
6on6 clans like OZ, NE and Gse. Again
the Golden Warriors proved their metal
and met challenges from the top clans
with gusto. After dominating the game at
its peak for two years a group of the
members decided to create their own clan
and Fingolfin decided to close the
Renegade section. Looking back on his
Renegade career Fingolfin made the
following observations:
"Renegade was
a brilliant game, other fps games may
have had better graphics but what really
set Renegade apart was the gameplay and
the need for teamwork and co-operation.
The clanwars were great, especially
8on8's which were frantic and hard as
hell to run. Although GW had few
outstanding 1on1 players we were all
exceptional team gamers and that's what
set us apart, our co-ordination and
teamwork were spot on which shows in our
clanwar record"
The clans
records were numerous. Competing in over
50 ESL wars and topping the ESL 3on3
ladder on three separate occasions GW
were the most successful team for 2
years. With a clanwar record of
249/209/43 the clan was arguably one of
the best with only Gse having a better
record. Although there are still clans
playing the game, Fingolfin and other
old GW members believe that the game has
past its limelight and the clan has
achieved everything it can.

History - Dawn of War |
After a period
of inactivity Fingolfin decided that the
Golden Warriors should arise on another
game but the trouble was; which? At the
time Fingolfin was interested in
Warhammer 40k and his friend Sean
(GW|Chaplain) suggested Dawn of War for
a clan game. Again as with Renegade the
first days were rocky and while
Fingolfin and Chaplain Improved the clan
went unnoticed. After a while more
members joined and the clan soon started
playing clanwars and building its
reputation. With Fingolfin getting on
the top 100 1on1 ladder and our members
beating the top players the clan grew.
Our teamwork was smooth and our tactics
helped win many games. With a clanwar
record of 15/13/2 the clan had a steady
flow and although not as many wars as
Renegade, still a good show of skill.
With the arrival of the new expansion
pack: Winter Assault several members
left to move onto this game.
Fingolfin and
the core members stayed on DoW for a
while and eventually came to Winter
Assault. After getting used to the new
style of play and different tech system
the clan soon became a skilled unit.
With the addition of already skilled
players such as Panic and Attack
(Formerly of DW), Tek (a great
freelancer) and Dharka (formerly qwerty
of WK) the clan had a formidable
line-up. As before Fingolfin was anxious
to play clanwars and soon the clan were
playing such clans as WA and BBF and
finished on Winter Assault with a record
of 5/5/0. Not as many clanwars as DoW
but a perfect record which could have
been better if relic decided not to
release Dark Crusade...
The 2nd
expansion saw immediate success for the
Golden Warriors and the roster was was
full with players who had experience and
skill. Dark Crusade saw a totally new
tech system and a different approach to
the game, the members adapted well and
played several clanwars straight away.
With a yearning for something extra the
clan signed up once again to the ESL
league; This time joining the 2on2 Dark
Crusade ladder. With a top league
position of 2nd the Warriors are
boasting a successful team and with a
already large clanwar record the team
looks to take the ESL success further.
As the clan became more skilled out
attentions turned to the competitive
ladders provided by relic through
auto matches and Tek, Fingolfin, Dharka
and Jamerson have all been in the top 10
on the 2on2 ladder. As Dark Crusade
flourishes so does the clan, and
currently the Golden Warriors are
holding strong.
2008 brought the
third and final expansion to the Dawn of
War series; Soulstorm. The Golden
Warriors immediately took to this new
expansion with vigour and a great
attitude. All members of the Dark
Crusade roster brought the game and
moved over to carry on the GW name.
Currently training up and getting used
to the game, little can be said as to
the sections success; only time will
tell.

Clan
History -Call of Duty 4 |
The Golden
Warriors being a multi gaming clan
decided to take on another game, but
what?
There were many great games out there
too choose from that could of been
selected however, it was Call of Duty 4
that took pole position in the polls and
thus the Golden Warriors would soon be
kitting themselves out for Modern
Warfare.
The Golden Warriors needed a good,
strong base for their first foray out
onto the battle field and someone who
could train and lead a team effectively
with the aim to take the ESL leagues by
storm. They needed someone with
experience in first person shooters and
someone they could trust and knew would
be exactly what they needed.
An old player of Renegade was contacted
and sure enough he took the position as
the Leader of the Call of Duty 4 section
for the Golden Warriors and too this day
GW|Deathtrap still runs it like a well
oiled machine.
GW|Deathtrap however had the task set
before him now, to build up a Golden
Warrior army that he could be proud of
and quickly set about asking all the
people he could find to sign up for the
Golden Warriors latest endeavour.
In that he found two players,
GW|w0nn4pl4y and GW|rAUNCH whilst
Fingolfin enlisted the help of
GW|Tanith. Of the first four members of
the original squad only one remains, as
GW|w0nn4pl4y and GW|rAUNCH were both
ejected from the clan for two varying
reasons.
However as the days went on,
GW|Deathtrap and GW|Tanith formed a
solid team together and Tanith soon
became the Co-leader for the section.
With no other players with them, the
pair had time to practice their team
skills and both names have become
symbols of fear on several servers. Even
to the point where they would slander
their achievements with degrading
comments like hackers, however being
Golden Warriors the pair are above such
things. The GW CoD4 section has now
begun to flourish, with Tanith enlisting
the help of GW|Blunty and Deathtrap
enlisting GW|War_Machine. The Golden
Warriors now feel that they have a solid
beginning to their efforts.
Both Deathtrap and Tanith run the
training session, which have so far been
going well and all players involved
showing great improvements in both
teamwork and skills.
The Golden Warrior CoD4 section is
looking out to be one of worth and
showing a lot of promise.
GW|Deathtrap and GW|Tanith have entered
themselves into the ESL with the aim of
taking on the 2vs2 Search and Destroy
leagues.
What they will achieve will be down to
hard work and skill, however the Golden
Warriors are not ones for backing down
and will raise to the challenge. After
success in the Clanbase 5on5 ladder, the
CoD4 section eventually closed down due
to management problems and lack of
commitment, although short lived, the
section prospered well and continued the
GW name. |
